    Active Membership

Active membership status is given to students that are not yet certified EMTs. Active members are invited to attend monthly meetings, vote on changes to our constitution, and participate in training events.

To become an active member, students must hold CPR certification and submit a membership application. CPR training classes are occasionally offered during the school year. Students who do not currently possess a CPR certification should contact Holly Wemple or Elena Zerkin for information about the next scheduled session.

    First Responder

To become a first responder, students must have a current EMT certification in the state of Virginia (or have reciprocity or legal recognition from the state EMT board*), and must be cleared by the Chief of Operations, President and Richmond Ambulance Authority liaison to respond to on-campus emergencies. First responders are encouraged to participate in a variety of training events and mock drills to ensure their competency.

*Please click on the EMT Certification page on the left for information on out-of-state EMT reciprocity.
