What Did We Do Wrong?
The University of Richmond Police Department maintains high standards of integrity and professionalism. Each year, the police department comes into contact with thousands of individuals within the University community. University Police would like to hear from you if you wish to make a complaint concerning the action (s) of any member of the Police Department.
- If you wish to remain anonymous please complete the form below and submit. The Police Department will investigate any anonymous complaint or information received.
- You may call URPD at 289-8715 and ask to speak with a police supervisor. If you are asked by the Communications Officer about why, just state that you need to speak with a supervisor related to conduct.
- You may print and complete the complaint form and mail it to our office. Any police department supervisor can assist you in completing a complaint form. You will be asked to identify yourself, however if you wish to remain anonymous the investigation will be conducted based on the information provided and you will not be able to receive follow-up information.
Once received, you will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of your complaint, and your complaint will then be investigated. You may be contacted and asked additional questions about your complaint.
Once your complaint has been investigated, the assistant chief of police will review the investigation and write you a letter explaining the outcome of the matter. If the complaint process is expected to exceed 30 days, you will be notified in writing when you may expect a reply.
