About UREMS

University of Richmond Emergency Medical Services (UREMS) is a student-run organization of dedicated first responders who offer assistance in the event of a medical emergency on campus. Members respond to 911 calls in teams of two alongside the University of Richmond Police 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the academic year. On-duty providers carry equipment bags during their shift and respond to emergencies in the UREMS quick response vehicle.

UREMS also provides EMS coverage during all home football games at Robins Stadium and home basketball games at Robins Center. During Football games, look for UREMS providers posted in both sides of the stands and in the First Aid room on the Boatwright Drive side of the stadium. During Basketball games, you can find UREMS providers in the Robins Center EMS room, located on the concourse level.

All responders are certified Emergency Medical Technicians in the Commonwealth of Virginia. UREMS is a subsidiary of the Richmond Ambulance Authority, where members receive additional training before being cleared to respond on campus.

UREMS is dispatched by both the University of Richmond Police Department (URPD) and Richmond Ambulance Authority (RAA).

In case of a medical emergency, always call URPD at 8911 from a campus phone or (804) 289-8911 from a cell phone.
