Parking Services
The University of Richmond Parking Services strives to provide adequate, safe, convenient, and accessible parking for the faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the University. To accomplish this, Parking Services will:
- Continuously assess the parking needs of the campus community
- Create effective rules and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to better serve the campus community
- Provide 24-hour police patrols of all parking lots
General Information
- Parking regulations are applicable to all faculty, staff, students, and visitors to the University.
- All vehicles parked on campus must display a current University of Richmond parking permit or temporary tag. The University of Richmond accepts no responsibility for a vehicle, or its contents, while it is parked or operated on University property.
- Charges for registration fees and citations are transferred to the Bursar's Office for payment.
- All fees must be paid to the Bursar's Office in Sarah Brunet Hall in person or by mail.
- Students may use golf carts for the sole use of transportation due to injury. The golf cart must be registered with Parking Services. Identification and a doctor's note may be required.
- We understand there are times when a student needs to park outside of an assigned lot. Permission to park in another student lot may be requested from Parking Services or after hours from the UR Police Department.
Vehicle Registration
- You may register those cars for which you are the owner or primary driver. Once a car is on campus, it needs to be registered with Parking Services and display a permit within 24 hours.
- The current year registration fee will be charged to the student's tuition account. Once you have paid the registration fee, you may register as many cars as will be operated on campus during the school year, though only one vehicle may be on campus at a time.
- Vehicles must be re-registered every school year. Permits are valid from August to July.
- Permits are assigned by residency, student classification, and availability of parking spaces. Parking Services assigns all permits.
- Permits must be permanently affixed to the left side of the vehicle's rear bumper or to the lower left side of the rear window. Please do not use tape.
- If you drive a motorcycle, please affix the permit where it can be easily seen. Lost, stolen or damaged permits must be reported and will be replaced without charge.
